The Rest
the beginning
Susie and I met in college after being introduced by our mutual friend, Katherine Jones. Katherine invited both of us, along with our friend, Tim Tucker, to go out for drinks one summer night. We almost had to call it off because of a wreck I was in earlier that day. Luckily, I was able to make it out and Susie and I hit if off from the start. Over the next few weeks, the four of us continued to go out together, and all the while I was slowly but surely starting my courtship of Susie.
The Rest
the first date
I began to grow impatient with Christian’s charming, but time-consuming tactics, so I decided to suggest to him that we go for a hike at Devil’s Den in Fayetteville. We thought it would be fun to take advantage of the summer solstice by going to see the sunrise at 5:30 AM. The date was the first time (of many more to come) that I contributed to our collective tardiness and coincidentally we missed the sunrise. The sunrise-less hike went great after that and we have been together ever since.

Through several moves and nearly three years of long distance after a year of dating in Fayetteville, we now are starting our lives together in Houston, Texas. We got engaged while we were in Nashville to celebrate the new year with friends. It was an amazing way to start off the year by promising to each other that we would be together forever. We are so blessed to be surrounded by an amazing network of family and friends who have supported us throughout our relationship and in preparation for our marriage. So many people have played an part in our relationship and we want to thank everyone in our lives who has made an impact.
